from 22-26 March 2023
The PGA Tour 2023 WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play golf tournament will take place from 22-26 March 2023. Since 2016 the tournament was played at the Austin Country Club in Texas and it is the only one of the four annual World Golf Championships that use a match-play format.
In 2015 the tournament name was WGC-Dell Match Play, in 2014 WGC-Cadillac Match Play, and in 1999-2000 the tournament name was WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship. It had been played eight times in Arizona, eight times in California, and once in Australia before moving to Austin. It is approved and hosted by the International Federation of PGA Tour. The tournament's official prize money on the PGA Tour, the European Tour, and the Japan Golf Tour are $10,500,000. Tiger woods has won this tournament three times. The champion was awarded a Wedgwood trophy called the Walter Hagan Cup.
Every year, 64 top golfers competed in the tournament, but after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, this annual tournament was canceled in 2020.
