It is a part of the Korn Ferry Tour schedule 2020, and it is a four-day 72-hole, stroke-play event, and the total prize money for this tournament is 600,000 US dollars. Originally, the Savannah Golf Championship 2020 was scheduled for the week of 30 March to 5 April, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was postponed to 17 March 2020. Now, this event has become one of the five events that make up the new autumn schedule of the Korn Ferry Tour.

The tournament director Cheyenne Overby said:  We are happy to declare this new date for the Savannah Golf Championship because we hope to bring Korn Ferry Tour Golf back to our city in 2020. We thank our partners, Landing Club and Volunteers continue to provide support during the competition week and know that we can only participate in this competition if we are guided by leading public health authorities in terms of safety.

The recently created Korn Ferry Tour schedule for 2020-21 will span two seasons. 25 PGA TOUR cards will be granted at the 2021 Win-Co Food Portland Open by KraftHeinz and 25 cards rewarded at the end of the Korn Ferry Tour Finals 2021.
